Two weeks of continuous rain and drizzle. I can't remember such an extended period of rain and gloom.

Meanwhile in Southwest Texas there has not been significant rain (over .5 inches) in about 6 weeks and that was during the rainy season.

Soon, but not soon enough, we will have about 30 “perfect” days before the ice age comes, after that you get 20 days of spring before hell literally breaks loose for over 109 days (if you are lucky).

Again, people who reside here really need to stop wondering why the cost of living is so low.

I was browsing in a local sporting goods store and looked at the baseball bats. Thought about buying one for my son. The price was $120! For a regular baseball bat. Unreal. I would have guessed they sold for about a third of that and considered it robbery even at that price. The local little league team must have a fortune in baseball bats. Cheap made in China baseball gloves were over $70.

MSNBC "fact checking" the number of eggs that Vance jokingly told the press that his kids eat. No bias there. I'm sure they will hold everyone to the same standard.

Well worth the weather exchange. Had a wonderful weekend in Austin, 90 degrees, sunshine, no clouds and lots of fun. Best deal in Austin - Moonshine Bar and Grill - 3 people, drinks, appetizers, dinners and coffee, gourmet food to boot and plenty of it - $100 with generous tip. Now, even in expensive Austin, that is a deal anywhere nowadays!

Something called the Burger King Addams Family themed meal which includes such things as the "Wednesday Whopper" and "Gomez Churro Fries." I'm an Addams Family fan (there is streaming channel that runs 24/7 Addams Family episodes) but putting a whopper on a purple bun (and God knows what they use to die it that color) and suggesting that has some connection to the show is a bridge too far.

The only fast food I've ever eaten are Dunkin Donuts (if you want to call that fast food; I go for the occasional bacon/egg/cheese on a multi grain bagel and a coffee roll) and McDonalds, I'm a two double cheeseburgers/medium fry/small chocolate shake kind of guy, maybe twice a year and that's all she wrote.

Agreed; there are literally 4 of them within two miles of my condo, yet they all stay in business, go figure.

Never eaten at Five Guys or Sonic either, but I heard the former is pretty good, the latter is God awful.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about; FOX news is claiming victims of hurricane Helene are without power, food, diapers, clean water, etc, etc for about a week now, not a FEMA truck in sight, the report states "FEMA is broke due to 1.3 BILLION dollars of their funds being taken and allocated to house, feed, fly, hand out phones, put up in luxury hotels illegal immigrants."

No other news outlet is reporting this; so is it true or not? Is FEMA broke? So they can't help Americans? America last?

There's another hurricane coming too BTW, it's called hurricane season.

Yep, Western Governments giving Tax Payer Money to those who never have and Never will be net contributors.
Read somewhere that the governments offices have done a study as to how much an illegal immigrant is expected to cost the country over their life with an average life expectancy of 81 years.
In the UK this will be over £450,000.00 each and that does not take into account how much additional dependents granted entry after the illegal is granted right to stay will cost !
The various western governments already admit that immigration is a net loss for their countries and leading to the decline in the living standard of it's own citizens and the more that come in the quicker that decline will be.

Hollywood celebs advocating for the release of murderers. Most recently Kim Kardashian arguing that the Menendez brothers be released. They killed their parents in cold blood with shotguns then went on a wild spending spree claiming they were innocent and it was a mafia hit. After they were arrested because they had stupidly confessed to a psychiatrist, they suddenly claimed they were victims of sexual abuse. There is no doubt of their guilt for this act. They were sentenced to life in prison.

This is where I get irate. We have our CITIZENS suffering and where our government could be helpful, they can't as they have spent it on Illegal Immigrants (that is the proper legal term regarless of what the idiot mainstream media will say). I just don't understand how anyone with a brain thinks this is OK. This dumb practice has to end, we are going to be ruined as a nation eventually. We will disintegrate from within.

I am sure as all news stories have an angle, but I have come to understand independently that FEMA is technically broke and needs more appropriations.
