    Hanomag Symbol ID please

Some more commentary on research... little did I know that I had a 2011 book by Mr. StuG himself, Karlheinz Muench collecting dust on my bookshelf on this very unit, the 192. He claims the Totenkopf were: Staffbattery-Green First-White Second-Red Third-Yellow which contradicts the artwork of...

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

It's an acquired process of learning who to trust. There's about four people in the world doing regular archive work, some others doing sporadic research, about a hundred authors writing books off of incomplete research discoveries they don't understand, another hundred writing websites in the...

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

    Red was Battery 1 / 192

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

That comes with a very very important caveat. The brown was visible only if one stood within a few feet of the vehicle. That from a Brit Intel pamphlet wrt sealion. So that makes it essentially meaningless at our scale

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

So the model is likely panzer grenadier , but one squiggle short

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

Terry, chew on this... Is it recon or panzer grenadier? I don't have the OOB for 14 PD, but do have the 16PD, and most of the organizations in there at the HQ level have the wiggly recon line.

    Hanomag Symbol ID please

To add on to Terry, it is indeed a valid symbol. The circle above the box means partially wheeled (or you could read partially halftracked). In the panzer recon battalion OOB, this symbol (the half track recon company) is found, I'll have to scan later.

    FL PanzerIV (short barrel Gun)

Thanks guys. Mitch, if you or anybody else has an opinion on this, please post: What do you all think the color is of the gun barrel? For Summer/Fall 1942 Russia/France & 42-43 Africa, I have noticed that many gun barrels on PzIII/IV-long are substantially darker than the body of the tank...

    FL PanzerIV (short barrel Gun)

I started prepping this Figarti to make it over as a Fall Blau F2 to tie in with an eventual FL PzIVF1 or F2. Still waiting to see how its going to go here...sand or grey, numbering / division markings, etc. all work stopped long ago.

FOB039 - Blitzkrieg Panzer IV Question

Yup. That's one of the two markings that division used. The other was the upside down Y that was more prevalent during Barbarossa

    M26 Pershing arrived

K&C figs are the market leader by miles & miles. In terms of quality, variety, quantity, considered together which throws FL out. One corner that K&C has historically cut has been vehicle size. I've always been under the impression that they wanted to make the smallest they could get away with...

Panzer 38T, A Great little Tank

Last German usage (I think) was the 12th Panzer Division relief attempt of Velikiye Luki, of which the recent winter Germans in both K&C & FL would do well. (attention diorama makers). Here's a rare pice a winter 38t, but I'm not sure if its from 41-42 or 42-43 (or was it the 8th Panzer...

    Possibility for Operation Torch

Americans in Tunisia are a bit of a dull subject for me. The Germans are the ones who had the interesting force there. The Americans had very obsolete equipment that can be used for Torch & not much else, so it's stamped with mediocrity. A nice Lee or Sherman or Stuart wreck for the Germans...

    Winter Jagdpanther

I really like CS vehicles. Unfortunately they made some critical mistakes on some favorites of mine, the cupola of the IVG, wheels of the early Tiger, and the slope of the new Panther bothers me, but the Pershing, PzIII, 88 & 232 are REALLY sweet. If they could just stop these annoying errors...
